Market intelligence on telecom, wireless and semiconductors.

Wow, what’s up with Credence (CMOS)?

The maker of semiconductor test systems today is up 41 cents, or 18%, at $2.68. The only news I sees is that the company has hired a former Agilent (A) exec named Amir Aghdaei as senior vice president, field operations and marketing. (I’m sure he’s a perfectly nice guy, but I doubt his hiring is reason to boost the market cap by 18%.)

I would note that Credence shares tumbled from $3.90 in early July to as low as $1.96 last Thursday, before rebounding 31 cents on Friday.
